Why we need these Old Age Homes?

Old Age Homes are the homes for homeless senior citizens who have no one to live with them or may be they don't have any family. But their are also many old people who come to spend their last days in old age home who has their family and children but their children don't want to live with them and forcefully send them to old age home.

There are many  reasons as to why people live in old age home. For example an old lady was sent to the old age home by police because she was found on road side in abnormal condition and she didn't know anything about herself or may be she had no one to live with. While on other hand an old lady who is living with her family but her own children don't treat her well and looked upon her as burden was forcefully sent her to old age home.

Apart from this their could be many more reasons like continues fight between daughter-in-law and mother in-law or with father in-law and their son decides to send them to old age home so that he and his wife can live a peaceful , happily. But this is not right how can anyone live peacefully after throwing their old parents to an unknown shelter.

The latest report by National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) termed Delhi the most unsafe city for senior citizens having a rate of 89 crimes per one lakh elderly population. It stated that senior citizens in the national capital are almost five times more likely to become victims of a crime than the rest of the country.

But their are also some people who want to live with their old parents but because of their busy schedule and they have no one to take care of their elders, the only last option remain to them is to shift them in an old care home but they regularly visit them. This is also a reason that why people need old age homes.
