Concept of Old Age Home.

Old Age homes are not a happy choice of old people to spend their last days of life but most of the old age homes try their best to keep them happy and healthy and basically the idea behind am old age home is itself a healthy idea to give shelter to those people who are in the end phase of their life and now they have no one to look after them or to live with them. The place that is "old age home"is ofcourse like home where the they get all the facilities for a routine living, like food, clothing, and shelter.

The concept behind the old age home is way of living that changed a-lot from past few years. Their was time when families used to live together to which we said joint family. Now joint family is a rare concept every other house is a nuclear family because most of the people in this generation believe in the "freedom from family" which is actually not a freedom. Slowly and gradually this converts into selfish solo living that turns into a situation in which people can't bear their old parents with them and for those the only option left are " OLD AGE HOME". This is one side of the concept of old age home. But their are thousands of old people who never got married so they don't even have the option to live with their families because they have no to live with them in such case "old age home" is a blessing and best option.

Whatever the concept is bad idea only to give shelter to senior citizens who have no other place to live. Among the estimated population of over 10 crore in the country in the age range of 65 and above, at least 10 to 20% will be above 75 who face health problems to different degrees. Due to personal compulsions many have emigrated and stay with children mostly in the United States. But some are unable to travel owing to health reasons such as immobility or other personal reasons, and go in search of OAHs.

Apart from these two reasons their is one more reason that old people moved to old age home rather then living in their own homes that is whose children move to other countries those old couples have no one to look after them but they are financially stable because their children send them money from foreign so for emotional and health safety they moved to Old Age Homes.
